Take Me Out To The Ballgame...

This past Friday we took Carson to his first baseball game. Since he would be up past his usual bedtime we were a bit nervous to see how cranky he might get but he actually did really well...the power nap in the car on the way to the game must have helped ;)

The Missions won and Carson was in a good mood the entire game and then slept really well that night so it was a win for us too!

Hey Dad...that beer looks really refreshing!

Not sure how much of the game he actually watched...I think he was more entertained by the people around us.

Butternut squash...beats concession stand food hands down

The highlight of the evening: Meeting BallopeƱo!!!

Back by popular demand...

Yes I know...I've been a terrible blogger...denying everyone of stories, photos, and videos of adorable Carson and playful Oreo. I promise to turn over a new leaf...let's call it my mid-year's resolution ;) While I get organized (or in other words: go through the 900+ photos taken in the last 6 months and pick out the best ones to share) here's some photos to tide you over...enjoy!

mmmm sweet potatoes!

6 months old and full of smiles!

Check out my big brown eyes!

Two Months: Stats and Smiles

*Quick Note: Yes, I know my sweet baby is now THREE months old. I wrote this post a month ago but had been waiting to publish in hopes that the Blogspot peeps would fix the video upload issues. Turns out there may still be an issue but I'm tired of waiting. The videos should work...I hope they do because they are super cute!*

The medical stuff:

Weight: 11 lb 12 oz
Height: 23 3/4 in
Head: 38 1/4 cm

And now the fun, cute stuff:

Dr. P said Carson "has the head control of a four month old". He's so advanced ;) Here's some photo proof:

Our little guy has also started smiling and cooing at us.

He's also getting good at holding the bottle:

Such a precious face!

Stylish Little Dude

Here's Carson modeling some of the cute threads family and friends got him.

Greg wishes he had this shirt...

Whiggety, whiggety, whack!

While he can't even walk yet, Carson has quite a shoe collection.

Who do these remind you of? I actually bought these a few years ago because they were too cute to pass up!

From Great Aunt Sarah, hiking boots for summers in Colorado and...

a pair of cowboy boots (something every little Texan should have).

Juri and Risa sent him his own pair of Japanese geta.

What exactly does "Sleeping Like A Baby" mean?

As you can see in the videos below, Carson is a pretty good sleeper. During one of his recent growth spurts it was pretty rough but we're getting back on track.

We can't help but take photos of him sleeping because a) he's really really cute and b) he sometimes makes the funniest faces or sleeps in the funniest positions.

Here's a few of our favs:

Look at that pout...he gets that from his dad

We call this one "The Sumo"

Here he looks so contemplative

"The Monkey"

Snoozing after a good meal

"The Han Solo in Carbonite"

"Freeze!"

Whatchu Lookin' At?

Hey There Bright Eyes!

Carson makes some of the funniest and cutest faces but it's hard to catch them all on film.

We've had some luck though in capturing a few of the cute moments such as this one:

A standard look is his shocked/surprised look. We can't help but laugh at how wide his eyes get and how they'll stay fixated on something. At first we were worried about the lack of blinking until we read that it's typical for babies. He could smoke anyone right now at a staring contest.

"What!? You're taking me to the doctor!?"

Here he's making some sort of important declaration...

And a few of our other favorites:

Best. Thing. Ever.

A few days after celebrating Carson's one month birthday (and were sure he had the hang of breastfeeding) we started incorporating two previous no-no's: bottles and pacifiers.

Greg fed Carson his first bottle and it went OK...he definitely made a "what the heck is this" face before chowing down. The bottles have given us a bit more freedom...well, more so for me. It's nice to have a break now and then.

And the pacifiers...what can I say about the pacifiers? Possibly that they are the best baby related invention ever. I know I'm still a novice mom so that's a strong statement to make but they definitely fall in the top 10.

Before introducing him to a pacifier he seemed content to suck the heck out of Greg's finger:

It took a few tries to get him used to sucking on one but he soon got the hang of it. We often have to hold it in place for a few seconds because he has a tendency to either spit it out or accidentally pull it out of his mouth.

"Soooooo gooooood!"

"Sorry Mommy...you can't have your hand back yet"

"Mmmmmmm"
