Summer Family Vacations

This year for the Cherry Family reunion we headed south to Corpus Christi. It was different from the typical trek north to Oklahoma and the change of scenery was nice. It was Oreo’s first trip to the beach and she had a blast playing in the waves. In addition to beach time, we also hit another “must” when visiting Corpus: Snoopy’s for dinner. It was as greasy and good as usual :)

From Corpus, we headed to Lake Livingston for a week. It was so nice and quiet up there. Very relaxing.

The only visitors we had were a family of ducks.

Oreo was fascinated with the ducks. Another day when they came back by, she decided to try and say “Hello”. The mommy duck was none to happy about that.

Of course, Oreo had lots of rides on the boat and jet ski.

Daddy's Co-pilot

One day we took the boat out to the island and saw a bald eagle, which was really cool.

I took the jet ski for a spin as well...mainly just puttering around…gotta be careful with baby on board!

Greg did some fishing and while had to throw a few small ones back he did have some pretty good catches to show for his time & effort.

In addition to fishing success, Greg achieved the goal of going shirtless for over 48 hours. Thumbs up at 63 hours!

OK, who mentioned “boat ride” to Oreo?

On Friday my parents and their dogs (Isabel & Maddie) came up. The neighborhood association hosts a golf cart parade for the Fourth of July and there was a pretty good turn out.

Oreo also got her first taste of watermelon. She seemed to enjoy it.
