Weekend in Dallas

In May we made the trip up to Dallas to visit friends and help host a baby shower for one of my dear friends. We stayed at Ashley's parents gorgeous home...it was perfect timing since she was leaving the following week for a two year stint in Nigeria (!!!).

During her time in Bangladesh, Ashley adopted a dog (Taj) who now lives with her parents...talk about a rags to riches story! Taj is one lucky puppy!

Oreo's favorite part about the trip was having access to a pool. Though she didn't go swimming, she did enjoy being able to walk around on that first step without getting too wet and drinking out of the rock fountain.

She spent the majority of Sunday morning stalking their pool cleaner. It was hilarious! The Grounds' got a huge kick out of it. Oreo was so intense watching it go around the pool. She would jump and try to eat the water that splashed out of the hose when it popped out of the water.

The shower was lots of fun. Amanda got a lot of great and useful (according to the in-the-know moms in attendance) gifts. The hostesses were all sorority sisters from Trinity so the occasion was not only a time to celebrate Amanda's upcoming mommy-hood but also a chance to catch up with college friends.

The yummy spread...since it was a boy one of the hostesses suggested a "ball theme" (haha yes yes...get your minds of the gutter...it's as in "sports balls"). To fit the theme we came up with ideas for ball shaped foods: cheese ball, melon balls, and Oreo balls...
